BERITA KULIAH DI AUSTRIA

            Walisongo Mediation Center (WMC) pada tahun 2009 memberangkatkan membernya untuk mengambil studi di in European University Center for Peace and Conflict Sudies (EPU) Austria. Rencananya ada sebelas orang yang berangkat, yaitu sepuluh orang mengikuti short course dan satu orang mengikuti program S2. Untuk trimester awal (musim semi/Spring), telah diberangkatkan sebanyak lima orang, yaitu:

  1. Tolkhah (S2)
  2. Musahadi (Short Course)
  3. Imam Taufiq (Short Course)
  4. Mukhsin Jamil (Short Course)
  5. Akhmad Arif Junaidi (Short Course)

Peserta short course yang mengikuti program trimester pertama (Spring) memulai kuliah pada tanggal 1 Februari 2009 dan akan menyelesaikanm kuliah pada tanggal 25 April 2009. Materi-materi yang diterima oleh peserta trimester awal 2009 antara lain:

1.      National Security and Human Security (2 - 27 February 2009).

Materi tersebut meliputi pembahasan mengenai:

a.      Nonviolence - from Philosophy to Practical Tool yang dipandu oleh  Prof. Jorgen Johansen, Centre for Peace and Reconciliation Studies, Coventry University, Coventry, UK

b.      Peace as a Self-Regulating System yang dipandu oleh Prof. Dr. Dietrich Fischer, Academic Director and Student Adviser, EPU, Stadtschlaining, Austria

c.      Alternative Approaches to Peace and Security yang dipandu oleh Dr. Jan Oberg, Denmark, Director, Transnational Foundation for Peace and Future Research, Lund, Sweden

d.      Europe as a Peaceful Power? - Philosophy, History and Identity of European Security yang dipandu oleh Mag. Dr. Ronald H. Tuschl, Research Director, EPU, Stadtschlaining, Austria

e.      Building Capacity for Peace Media yang dipandu oleh Dominik Lehnert dan and Kimberlye Kowalczyk , Transcend Media Service, Stadtschlaining, Austria

b. African Resources and Obstacles for Peace yang dipandu oleh Dr. Muiruri J. Kimani, Nairobi, Kenya

c. Peace Education yang dipandu oleh Dr. Andria Wisler, Georgetown University, Washington, DC, USA.

d. Causes of War and Peace Initiatives in the Middle East yang dipandu oleh Prof. Dr. Irma Kaarina Ghosn, Director, Inst. for Peace and Justice Education, Lebanese American, Beirut, Lebanon

e. Transition from Civil War to Peace in Asia dipandu Prof. Dr. Vinya Ariyaratne, President, Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement, Sri Lanka

f. Creating a Culture of Healing in Post-Conflict Communities dipandu Prof. Dr. Hossain Danesh, President, Education for Peace International, Vancouver, Canada

3. Peace Culture, Religions and Ethics (30 March - 24 April 2009)

b. Peace and Gender dipandu oleh Prof. Dr. Gal Harmat, Kibbutzim College of Education, Tel Aviv, Israel

c. Nonviolent Communication dipandu oleh Eva Rambala, Certified Trainer in Nonviolent Communication, Budapest, Hungary

d. Globalizing God: Religion, Spirituality and Peace dipandu oleh Dr. Graeme MacQueen, Professor emeritus, Dept. of Religious Studies, McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada

e. Introduction to Unity-Based Conflict Resolution dipandu oleh Prof. Dr. Roshan P. Danesh, lawyer and consultant on conflict resolution, Vancouver, Canada

 

 

            Walisongo Mediation Center (WMC), in corporation with NUFFIC Netherland, in 2009 sends its members to take course and master program in European University Center for Peace and Conflict Sudies (EPU) Austria. There are ten members planned to take course and one to take master program in Austria. They are divided into three groups. First group takes part in first trimester (Spring), second group in second trimester (summer), and third group in third trimester (Fall). The first group departed at January 31, 2009 and have class from February 1, 2009 – April 25, 2009. The first group  consists of
